Chargebee SLA credit guide

What Chargebee's own agreement actually says about availability: no uptime percentage, no credit schedule and no claim process, so there is nothing to file for a bad month — plus where a service level for Chargebee would live if you have one, and the outage record Ontracko keeps regardless.

What SLA credit are you owed when Chargebee is down?

Chargebee publishes NO availability SLA at all — no uptime percentage, no credit schedule and no claim process — so there is nothing to file for a bad month, and any "Chargebee uptime guarantee" figure circulating elsewhere did not come from Chargebee's own terms. If you have a service level with Chargebee, it lives in your own Order Form or negotiated agreement — that document, not a public page, is where the commitment and any remedy actually are. Ontracko monitors Chargebee for free either way and keeps the dated outage record, which is what a renewal conversation runs on. One more thing about the deadline, because Chargebee not stating one is not the same as there being none: file promptly anyway. A contract can carry a limitation period nobody printed, evidence ages badly, and the status-page record a claim is built on is easiest to defend while it is fresh. If Ontracko shows a date against a Chargebee claim, that date is our own monitoring reminder rather than anything Chargebee set — we will never let it expire a claim, and you should never quote it to Chargebee as their window.

Chargebee (Terms of Service — no availability SLA published)no published commitment · nothing to file

No filable service credit exists for Chargebee (Terms of Service — no availability SLA published) under the standard agreement — not a tier table gap, a genuine zero. NO AVAILABILITY SLA AND NO SERVICE CREDIT — AND THE CORE SERVICES ARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED, WHICH MAKES THIS A HARDER SILENCE THAN A DOCUMENT THAT MERELY OMITS THE SUBJECT. Chargebee's Terms of Service at chargebee.com/company/terms/ were read in full (54,368 characters of rendered text): they state no uptime figure, define no service level and establish no service credit. §10, Disclaimer of Warranties, is the clause that settles it, and it covers the ordinary subscription-billing Services rather than only a beta: "THE SERVICES AND ALL SERVER AND NETWORK COMPONENTS ARE PROVIDED ON AN 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' BASIS AND WE, ON BEHALF OF OURSELVES, OUR AFFILIATES AND THE SERVICE PROVIDERS, DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE." Pre-Release Offerings are disclaimed separately and additionally, also on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties. THERE IS NO AVAILABILITY REMEDY ANYWHERE IN THE DOCUMENT: the only "sole and exclusive remedy" clause is §4.2, and it is scoped to intellectual-property infringement — Chargebee may procure the right for the customer to keep using the Services, modify them, or terminate. THE WORD "CREDIT" IN THESE TERMS MEANS BILLING, NOT SERVICE: it appears as a prorated billing adjustment ("any credits will be adjusted appropriately"), in the insolvency clause's reference to creditors, and in a credit-card compliance disclaimer. THE ONE MENTION OF DOWNTIME POINTS AT THE CUSTOMER'S OWN STACK, NOT AT CHARGEBEE: the Terms exclude Chargebee's liability for the "sub optimal functionality, availability or downtime of Your payment gateway and/or Third-Party Integration(s)". A SENTENCE OFTEN QUOTED ABOUT CHARGEBEE BELONGS TO A DIFFERENT PRODUCT: "We do not guarantee or make any commitment with respect to the service levels and/or support for the iPaaS platform" sits at chargebee.com/company/terms/supplemental-terms/, whose single content heading is "iPaaS PLATFORM SUPPLEMENTAL TERMS", so it speaks to the iPaaS platform and settles nothing about subscription billing — §10 of the main Terms of Service is what answers for that. IF A CUSTOMER HOLDS AN AVAILABILITY COMMITMENT OR A CREDIT SCHEDULE FOR CHARGEBEE, THE ONLY PLACE IT CAN LIVE IS THEIR OWN SIGNED ORDER FORM OR NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT — unpublished, and not verifiable from here. Read that agreement before asserting any figure. Primary sources read 9 September 2026.

Is there a Chargebee SLA credit to file?

No — there is nothing to file. Chargebee’s standard agreement doesn’t pay a per-incident service credit, so filing a claim would go nowhere. Ontracko still tracks Chargebee’s uptime record for free, which is real leverage in a renewal conversation even without a claimable credit.

Frequently asked

What is Chargebee's SLA uptime commitment?

Chargebee does not publish one. Its own agreement states no uptime percentage anywhere, so there is no commitment to quote — any figure attributed to Chargebee elsewhere did not come from Chargebee's terms. If you hold a negotiated Order Form, any availability commitment you have lives there.

Does Chargebee pay an SLA service credit?

No — and there is no commitment behind it either. Chargebee's published agreement states no uptime percentage and provides no service credit, so there is no figure to miss and nothing to file for a bad month. If you have a service level with Chargebee, it lives in your own Order Form or negotiated agreement — that document, not a public page, is where any commitment and any remedy would be.
