DigitalOcean SLA credit guide
What DigitalOcean owes you when it misses its uptime commitment — the credit tiers, the filing deadline, how to file, and a calculator to estimate your credit.
What SLA credit are you owed when DigitalOcean is down?
When DigitalOcean (CPU Droplets) falls below its 99.99% monthly uptime commitment, you're owed an SLA service credit worth 100% of the affected service's monthly spend — larger the further uptime fell — claimable within 60 days of the end of the affected billing month. It's a credit toward a future invoice, not a cash refund.

Credit tiers by service
| Measured uptime | Credit |
|---|---|
| below 99.99% | 100% of spend |
Unusually blunt tariff: ANY monthly uptime below 99.99% earns a 100% credit for the affected Droplet — there are no intermediate tiers. Claim by EMAIL to success@digitalocean.com (the channel the SLA names), within two billing cycles of the affected month. Measured per individual Droplet, not account-wide. WARNING: DigitalOcean publishes a SEPARATE SLA per product (App Platform, Managed Databases, Spaces, DOKS, Load Balancers, Container Registry) with different targets and credit models — this profile covers CPU Droplets; confirm the product-specific page before quoting a credit for anything else. Credit-only, non-refundable.
